伦敦枢纽 London Connection
英国交通事业的一项最伟大作品大概就是伦敦枢纽(London Connection)了.来自全国的铁路在伦敦汇合,与伦敦复杂的地铁网在四十多处相接,组成一个铁路地铁,地上地下连接的密集型网络.旅客可以在8个主要车站和其它几十处连接点更换火车或地铁.有些铁轨上会既有火车又有地铁运行。
如果你想从英国北部到南部,或是从东部到西部,你多半会经过伦敦枢纽.也就是说你要从一个火车站下车,乘地铁到另一个火车站,再从另一个火车站出发.你的火车票有时会包括了地铁的费用,因此你只需将火车票插入地铁站的票闸(ticket barriers)就可以通过了。
伦敦地铁-世界最密集的地铁网
伦敦的地铁网是世界最密集和复杂的.共有273个车站,12条线,几十个交会点.在伦敦的市中心,走几步就会看到一个地铁站。
如果你第一次坐伦敦的地铁,有可能会被其复杂的结构搞到不知方向.其实,这些地铁站都使用了非常规范的指示和标志.用颜色,图形标示很清楚.你只要遵从这些指示一定不会迷路的。
要安排你的地铁旅行,首先你要有一份伦敦地铁图.这种地图可以在英国几乎所有的万用手册,旅游指南中找到.更多的可以在任何一个地铁站免费索取.首先找到起点站和目的地,看看两点之间是否有由一条同样颜色的线相连.如果有,就不用换车啦!如果没有的话呢,看看不同颜色的线是在哪里交汇最近,记住那个站名,不要忘记下车喔.还有要提醒你的是呢,很多线会在一处分成两条线,不要上错车.比如你从Green park到Heathrow机场,一定要看到车头上写着"Heathrow"才上车,不然你可能会被送到离机场很远的Uxbridge,那就有大麻烦了。
车票的价格嘛,单程较近距离是1.40镑 (人民币: 21元左右).中间距离是2.80镑(人民币: 42元左右),远距离是3.30镑.火车票不同的是,地铁的往返票没有任何优惠.所以如果你到伦敦来玩,最好买一张Travel card。
最后要提醒你的是,在伦敦市中心,坐一两站地铁是很不值得的事情.就算你有Travel Card,不坐白不坐,但地铁站长长的隧道会让你比在地上走的还远.如果只是一两站距离,还是步行更快。
Travel card
如果你不住在伦敦,要到伦敦游览.在你的启程火车站买一张Travel Card是最划算的选择.这种车票包含往返火车,无限的地铁和巴士服务.而票价只比单单往返车票贵不到两镑.如果你想在伦敦游览多日,那就买一张5日往返的车票加一张一周Travel card. Travel card真的是游览伦敦的最好工具,没有它,伦敦的交通是非常昂贵的。
买Travel Card还要注意伦敦的分区,伦敦的交通分6个区(Zone),1区在最中间,而6区在最外面.如果你买和火车票在一起的一日Travel card,一般都包括6个区.而单独买的Travel card则有选择,你可以只买1/2区,或1234区等等。
